December Notes

Connect to reFresh Church in 2017 Activities are ramping up for reFresh Church. In December, volunteers gathered to build a parade float and gave away 1,000 Ghirardelli chocolate squares and 5,000 pieces of candy in the Priceville Christmas Parade. On New Year’s Eve we’ll gather for our first Kindness Project in Priceville. And in February, we’ll begin connecting and equipping those who are interested in helping launch reFresh Church in 2017. Read more in this December’s notes…

1. Kindness Projects One of the core values of reFresh Church is kindness. I’ve heard it said the two most influential kinds of people in your life, in my life, in anyone’s life, are those who hurt you deeply or love you extravagantly. The Bible says,

Don't you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? … Can't you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?” -Romans 2:4 (NLT)

We want to be inspirational because the extravagant love of Jesus we share. To be the church that refreshes our community with God’s love! The church that others will see, experience, and know that God loves them. We’ll use our actions and words as a paintbrush on the canvas of our lives to create a picture of peace and kindness that is bigger than merely surviving in an evil world. One of the ways we share God’s love is by stepping into our community to illustrate God’s love with acts of kindness for anyone and everyone. A cold coke to drivers sitting in traffic on a hot day. Candy bars to retail staff. Bottled water to parents waiting on Football practice to end. Each gesture with a simple card which reads, “God loves you, no strings attached!”

As a new church in Priceville, AL, reFresh Church began illustrating God’s love at the annual Christmas parade on Saturday 12/10. Twenty-one folks helped prepare and share 5,000 pieces of candy to kids and 1,000 Ghirardelli chocolate squares to moms and dads along the parade route.

Our next kindness project is on New Year’s Eve 12/31, 11:30am to give away free Confetti Party Poppers for folks to enjoy at New Year’s celebrations that evening. See Save the Dates for more info.
